Setup guide

Seven steps to a maintenance routine that sticks.

01. Start with what’s in front of you

Name each machine the way your team does. Note the serial or plate, choose hours or mileage, and read the meter directly. Don’t guess a starting reading.

02. Find the real baseline

Dig up the last-service reading and date. If you don’t know it, say so and agree a starting point. Never invent a service that didn’t happen.

03. Match the manual

Check the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model. Templates are a starting point, not the final word.

04. Give every check an owner

Assign machines to the people who run them. For company-wide tasks, decide whether one completion covers the team or everyone does their own.

05. Start small

Run the first week with a few machines. Record readings, complete a task, report an issue, and check it all shows up in the office.

06. Check sync before you rely on it

Pending work hasn’t reached the office yet. Reconnect and confirm it’s been accepted.

07. Review regularly

When machines or staff change, check assignments, readings and baselines. Keep your normal safety procedures in place.

Know. Don’t guess.

Stop guessing.
Start knowing.
